GOOD ADVICE
Licenced to clean?!
We get this question a lot. No, we do not have a licence to clean. NO ONE has a licence to clean. There is no such thing. If anyone tells you they have a licence to clean they are mistaken. Now, you can be Incorporated (or have a limited liability company, or be a business owner, etc.) And you can be Insured and Bonded. You can pay your taxes. But you will find no cleaning company with a licence to clean.
Think of it this way: you have a licence to drive right? You took a class or two and then went and took a test that the state gives where you proved you knew how to drive. First a written one, then a practical test. Remember that guy with the checklist that was in charge of telling you if you passed or failed? The reason that the state gives these tests is because driving is a thing that people do that could actually hurt, or kill someone if not done properly. Now notice one thing: not only do people who drive for a living need a licence, EVERYONE who drives is required to have a licence!
Many contractors who build or construct bridges, houses, roadways are required to have these licences as well. However, it's not only people who do this for a living that need these licences, EVERYONE who is building a house, bridge or otherwise constructing things where they could cave in and hurt people are required to have a licence. And if you don't have a licence, you will need a permit (which basically states that you are hiring and/or working with someone that has a licence) to do or construct these things for you.
Can you imagine that the state required people to be licenced to clean? It's just not one of those things that is necessary. Anyone can clean, a 9 year old can clean and you do not need permission from the state to do it. As a matter of fact, even if you WANTED to get a licence to clean, there would be no such state test that you could take to do it. The state does not perform such cleaning tests.
